HOMECOMING 2012
Dear Valliant Alumni and guests,
We invite you to attend our 2012 Homecoming and Banquet on Saturday, May 26th. This is an annual event on Memorial Day weekend. We will begin at 8 AM with a reception in new John Paul Scroggins Field House conference room. The Field House has been built on the east end of the basketball gymnasium. The entrance for the conference room is on the south side of the building, near the flagpole.
During this time, we invite you to tour Stiewig Hall, the ‘rock gym’, and to view the class photos in the High School lobby. If any groups would like to tour the current buildings, please contact us so we can arrange tours. Separate classes holding their milestone reunions are encouraged to meet for lunch and during the afternoon. Local restaurants are listed at the end of this letter.
The cafeteria doors will open at 5 PM on Saturday evening for the banquet meal. We will begin serving at 6 PM. Entrance for the 2012 catered banquet will be $15.00 each. Please respond as soon as possible to allow an accurate count for food. Following our meal, the Hall of Fame inductees will be honored, the 2012 scholarship winner will be recognized, and the Alumni roll call will be conducted. We will wrap up the evening with a business meeting.
IMPORTANT: Please help us with planning by sending your R.S.V.P. by May 19th. If you are unable to attend this year’s banquet, a donation for our scholarship fund would be greatly appreciated.
Each year, the Alumni Association gives a one-time scholarship of $500-$1000. The amount given is determined by our yearly donations and proceeds from the banquet. With your support, we will have a Silent Auction during the banquet. We will accept items from alumni at the Saturday morning reception and at the cafeteria prior to our banquet starting. Suggested items for donation are: nostalgic period items, memorabilia related to Valliant and/or McCurtain County, personal works (paintings, books, etc.)
